In any business, the relationship between clients and the service provider is subjected to the stress of disputes often. Businesses that deliver true value to their clients over a sustained period of time have mechanisms to resolve these disputes. Often they rely on certain thumb rules also. One such thumb rule is the adage 'Customer is the king.' At Zyxware, we believe that it is a thumb rule that can, in contexts of disputes, lead to sub-optimal results for the relationship and the parties involved from the point of view of effectiveness and more importantly fairness.

The spread of Information Technology has introduced a number of challenges as well as opportunities into the Kerala society. Kerala needs to empower its citizens and make digital literacy universal to enable them to utilize the opportunities and manage the challenges. Nevertheless IT penetration is not optimal in a state with such a favorable scenario for IT penetration as it faces a number of challenges. The Government of Kerala has taken a number of steps to address them and they seem to have begun bearing fruit.

Zyxware recently conducted a session on GIMP for dentists. The workshop was conducted on the 17th of December, 2012. This was as part of a workshop organised by Indian Dental Association for their members on photography and photo editing. Zyxware conducted a 4 hour session on photo editing using GIMP, a Free Software Tool. Photography and photo editing are important skills for the modern day dentist given the requirements of documentation and research and communication with patients. Recognising the need for training for dentists in these areas, the IDA has taken an important step by organising this workshop. That they have chosen Free Software Tools like GIMP is commendable.

Zyxware Technologies is now a Technology Partner for QUEST Alliance in the Skills to Succeed Program which is a global corporate citizenship initiative of Accenture. QUEST Alliance was founded in the year 2005 as a program of the International Youth Foundation (IYF), financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to help educators and educational institutions drive the use of technology in teaching and learning.

The Freedom Toaster from Zyxware Technologies is back. This time at the Santhigiri Fest, 2012. Santhigiri Ashram took the initiative to provide us with a space for Freedom Toaster at the venue of the Santhigiri Fest, 2012. For those of you who may not know, the Freedom Toaster is a kiosk from where you can burn Free Software Distributions and Softwares freely. This time, we have added the latest version of Ubuntu, (Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 12.04), IT@School and Malayalam Offline Wiki. There are many more Distributions including Fedora, Mint, CentOS.
