Compaq Presario C734TU is an entry level model in HP-Compaq's product line. This is a Celeron based machine. Other features include - 512MB DDR2, 120GB SATA HDD, DVD/RW Multy drive, 15.4" Widescreen Display, Altec Lansing Stereo Speakers, 56K Modem, Integrated Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g, LiIon Battery, TouchPad, Web cam 1.3 mg, S-Video TV Out, 2 USB 2.0 and the operating system in the laptop is FreeDOS. You will have to install an operating system (Windows, Linux etc) to use the laptop. Incase you are planning to install Windows XP, you might have issues with compatible drivers.

HP-Compaq announced the prices of it Pavilion range of laptops for the month of February 2008. Prices are now more competitive and they ensure value for money. Here we are giving the prices of all available models of HP Pavilion Laptops

Presario C708LA is another model of laptop from HP-Compaq. This is an Intel Core Duo based machine with a speed of 1.46GHz, 1GB DDR II RAM, 120GB HardDisk, 15.4" WideScreen, Modem, LAN, Wifi, 3 USB ports and it comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition. Drivers for Windows xp are not available from company's website. We have provided all the links here. Neither Zyxware nor HP gives you any guarantee that these drivers will work perfectly in your laptop for Windows XP, as these laptops are designed to work with Windows Vista.

Ever since HP-Compaq stopped giving Windows XP drivers for their laptops customers across the world have been having a tough time setting up Windows XP and configuring all the devices (See our post on Windows XP drivers for HP-Compaq Presario F733AU). Sometimes these drivers work and sometime they don't. We have been installing Ubuntu on almost all the Laptops that we have been selling and we have not had any problems with Ubuntu so far. HCL Infosystems, in its quest to bring all the conveniences and advantages of a laptops to the hands of a common man, had launched its new small and ultraportable models of laptops - The HCL MiLeap Laptops, during January, 2008. They had announced the prices of MiLeap series laptops. Moreover, they have introduced new variants of its MiLeap X laptop which is more convenient to use and carry and with more hard disk storage as compared to the X model. Presario V3225AU is another model of laptop from the HP-Compaq's product line of notebooks. It is equipped with an AMD Turion processor (MK-36) at a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. Other specifications include NVIDIA C51M Chipset (512KB L2 Cache, Upto 1600MHz FSB), 512 MB DDR2 RAM, 80 GB SATA Hard Disk, 8X DVD +R/+RW Writer, 14.1" WideScreen, Windows Vista Home Basic, WirelessLAN and Express Card. The company does not provide driver CD along with the laptop. They have given drivers for Windows Vista on their website.

HCL Infosystems has launched laptops at a very affordable price in the market. Named as MiLeap, these are very compact, and lightweight machines and are available at the price of a basic computer. The company had launched these laptops on 15th January, 2008. These are targeted towards the lowest segment of the market.

Another model of laptop in HP-Compaq's Presario V3000 series product line is Presario V3172AU. The manufacturer has stopped shipping driver CDs along with the box. In their website, you can find all drivers of the same laptop for Windows Vista. They do not provide drivers for Windows XP. You will not be able to install XP without proper drivers. Here are the list of drivers of Presario V3172AU laptop. We strongly recommend that you get a legal and licensed copy of Windows if you are planning to install it.

Presario F733AU laptop is another model in HP-Compaq's product line. This laptop comes with an AMD Athlon X2 TK57 (1.9 GHz) processor, 512MB RAM, 120GB hard Disk, Dual Layer DVDRW, Wireless, 15.4" Widescreen, Modem, Built in camera and microphone and it is pre-installed with DOS. You need to install an operating system in to the machine so as to use it. If you are installing Windows, we recommend that you obtain legal and licenced version of the same (Windows XP or Vista) and install it. You can also try installing Linux, which is another operating system that is available free of cost.

HP Compaq has a model of laptop - Presario C751NR. This is a US based model. Drivers for Windows XP is not available in their site, if ever you think of installing XP. This model of laptop is specifically designed for Windows Vista. The drivers are not tested for Windows XP. Neither Zyxware nor HP assures any guarantee that the drivers will work perfectly in XP.
